ABOUT THE POSITION: Retail Sales Associate as a Sales Associate, you will be the welcoming face of Tandy Leather, responsible for greeting and assisting customers both in-store and over the phone. Your role is crucial in maintaining the store's overall presentation and providing exceptional customer service. We seek individuals who are fun, friendly, outgoing, and hard-working, with a passion for retail, crafting and a desire to help others learn the timeless art of leathercrafting. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Sales

  • Greet customers warmly in person and over the phone,demonstratingexcellent customer service in an engaging and professional manner.
  • Assistcustomers in selecting products, answering questions, sharing product knowledge, and recommendingTandy products.
  • Use active listening to understand customer needs, make helpful suggestions, and strive to close sales.
  • Inform customers when orders are ready for pickup or provide status updates, ensuring they receive their receipts and items.

Store Operations

  • Accurately process purchases and returns using the POS system and internal computer systems.
  • Help with receiving and stocking merchandiseandmaintaininginventory accuracy.
  • Follow opening/closing procedures, prepare displays/signage, and ensure a clean, organized retail space.
  • Create or update customer profile records.
  • Alert management to potential security issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Leathercrafting & Product Knowledge

  • Learn product attributes, differentiate between products/features, anddemonstrateproduct functions and purposes to customers.
  • Show willingness to learn and teach classes to customers, enhancing their knowledge and skills.

QUALIFICATIONS
