Our RN organ placement coordinators provide 24/7 coverage, managing services from the initial donor organ offer through the post-transplant recipient phase of a life-saving transplant. We fully support our partner organizations through effective communication, collaboration, continuous quality improvement and reliable partnerships to ensure highly successful programs. We are currently seeking to hire candidates with a strong background in heart and lung transplantation and donation.

  • Salary varies based on experience. Minimum pay 75,000

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure with multi-state NLC capabilities
  • Currently seeking candidates with experience in heart and lung transplant and donation
  • Available for 24-hour shift models
  • Cross trains to other contracts
  • Rotating schedule covering day, night, weekend and holiday call
  • Participates in additional trainings, educational opportunities, and team or contracted customer meetings as assigned by leadership
  • Supports annual goals and metrics set forth by leadership

Work Location: Remote

Status: Full time exempt position
Salary: $75,000 - 85,000 depending on experience, Extra pay for picking up extra shifts.

Key Responsibilities of an Organ Placement Coordinator

  • Provide 24/7 coverage for organ placement coordination, managing donor organ offers through post-transplant recipient phases
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with transplant centers, surgeons, and donor organizations
  • Adhere to OPTN policies and ensure compliance with transplant regulations
  • Accurately review donor and recipient charts and facilitate real-time documentation of accepted cases
  • Ensure seamless coordination of transplant logistics, utilizing standard templates and workflows
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to team education

Qualifications & Skills of an Organ Placement Coordinator

  • Experience in organ procurement organizations (OPOs), transplant centers solid organ experience, recipient transplant experience or acute care settings (ICU, Emergency Department, or transplant units) preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and UNet DonorNet/Waitlist
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team
