• You will apply a thorough knowledge of rigging principles and techniques to relative to lad stress and ability to move objects.
• You will utilize a working knowledge of submarines, and or surface ship systems, components, compartments and tanks.
• You will ensure all bells on cranes are operational, tracks are clear and moving and the tower and bool are before rotating or tracking the crane.
• You will direct the movement of portal and hammer head or mobile cranes and derricks.
• You will be responsible for instructing apprentice helpers, rigger workers and or riggers in assigned work.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• You will lift and/or carry loads/items up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

• Experience applying thorough knowledge of rigging principles and techniques to make difficult decisions relative to load stress and ability to move objects.
• Experience using complex multipoint suspension techniques to permit maneuvering over and around obstacles.
• Experience planning, laying out, assembling, repairing, and installing complex weight-handling gear and rigging systems.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding specifications, procedures, diagrams, and sketches.
• Experience using working knowledge of submarines and/or surface ship systems, components, compartments, and tanks.
• Experience directing cranes and operating hoists, forklifts and/ or hand trucks to handle heavier material and equipment.
