On a message board, online forum, or chat room, you moderate comments and ensure that they meet the rules and guidelines for posting on the site, and also to intervene when discussions get too heated or personal. You have the power to warn or ban participants who do not follow the rules. On social media sites, you also monitor content to ensure that it meets guidelines and enforce regulations meant to protect privacy and participation of site users. This is a remote position; you complete your responsibilities from home or another location with a reliable internet connection.

What does a work from home moderator do?

A Work From Home Moderator is responsible for monitoring online communities, forums, social media pages, or chat rooms to ensure that users follow the established rules and guidelines. They review user-generated content, respond to reports of inappropriate behavior, and may remove posts or ban users who violate policies. Moderators also help foster a positive and safe online environment by addressing user concerns and escalating issues when necessary. Working remotely, they often communicate with team members and use moderation tools to perform their duties effectively.

Work From Home Moderators often rely on digital communication tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email to stay connected with their colleagues and supervisors.
