Job description

Job Title: Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Mechanicsville, MD

School District: St. Mary's County Public Schools

About Us:

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of specialized early intervention services dedicated to helping children in Maryland reach their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals in making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

Position:

As an Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in early intervention, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic interventions to children aged birth to three years with communication and developmental delays. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the quality of life for these young children and their families. We are looking for an SLP to serve around 25 families.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify speech and language disorders, communication delays, and developmental milestones.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results and collaborate with families to establish realistic objectives.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy services in various settings, including home-based, community-based, and teletherapy.
  • Developing IFSP
  • Monitor and document progress regularly, adjusting goals as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Offer parent/caregiver education and guidance to support carryover of therapeutic strategies into the child's daily routines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, reports, and billing documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the early intervention team, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and developmental specialists.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology and early intervention services.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, team meetings, and company trainings.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Maryland state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable)
  • Educator Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in early intervention or pediatric speech therapy is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and family-centered care.
