Job description

Summary:
The Rooms Control Coordinator plays a key role in keeping our operation running smoothly by managing room inventory, supporting guest arrivals, and serving as a central communication hub for the Front Office and Housekeeping teams. This role requires strong organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced luxury resort environment.
The pay rate for this position is $21.00 - $22.80 hourly. This is the pay rate for this position that the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support Front Desk Operations - Assist with guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and lobby flow during peak arrival and departure periods.
  • Perform Rooms Control Duties - Assign rooms based on guest preferences, complete credit checks, manage inventory, monitor room readiness, and maintain accurate documentation in the PMS.
  • Handle Guest Communication - Answer a high volume of calls with a professional, friendly demeanor; respond to guest requests, reservation questions, and operational needs.
  • Provide Face-to-Face Service - Step in at the Front Desk as needed to assist guests directly, ensuring smooth service and timely support.
  • Coordinate Across Departments - Serve as a liaison between Front Office, Housekeeping, Reservations, Engineering, Sales, Revenue, and Guest Services to support VIP arrivals, group blocks, and daily operational communication.
  • Resolve Guest Concerns - Partner with hotel leadership to address room assignment issues, special requests, and accommodation challenges.
  • Maintain Operational Accuracy - Track room changes, preferences, special requests, and communication logs to ensure seamless coordination.
