Job description

Job Overview

The Enterprise Claims Manager is responsible for leading claims strategy across the organization. The role is accountable for developing, maintaining, and managing all claims for Fairview including Property and Casualty, Professional Liability and Fairview's Worker's Compensation program (which includes the MN Self Insured Work Comp program and the Commercially insured Outstate Work Comp program).

In consultation with leader, Legal and Risk departments, oversees claims investigations, settlements, litigations, subrogation and recovery efforts. Provides support for the Claims Software system. Reports on metrics and trends regarding causes, claims, and costs. This role focuses on improving claim outcomes and managing insurance-related costs through proactive oversight of claims, litigation, insurance administration, and risk analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the applicable state's Department of Labor and Industry and Department of Commerce to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance with regulated insurance industries.
  • Develops claim reports for system board committee and senior management to monitor claim management performance.
  • Manage subrogation and recoveries to minimize the severity of claims. Drive cost containment through strong claims oversight and proactive intervention.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the organization in the area of claims management.
  • Participate in teams, committees and task forces to assist the organization in developing, implementing and maintaining an injury prevention program.
  • Responsible and accountable for all claim management activities, which includes workers' compensation.
  • In conjunction with data analyst, responsible for developing, creating and managing analytical tools and reports to assist with risk identification and management.
  • Prepare budget Self Insured Work Comp program. Coordinates the appropriate allocations for the system related to budget for Work Comp program.
  • Identify local and national trends and benchmarks related to claims.
  • Interact with internal and external counsel representing Fairview. Partners closely with the Insurance team.
  • Lead a team of claims professionals
  • Processes workers compensation claims and also oversees all other claims
  • Assists attorneys with management of claims
Required Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance or related field, or five or more years management responsibilities in the workers compensation insurance/claims management area
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in: Risk management, Claims administration, Insurance operations or Litigation Support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Leadership experience in Claims Management or related field
  • Multi-site and multi-state experience strongly preferred
  • Litigation experience

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE).
