We are seeking a Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Tech Program manager to help us fuel AWS' explosive growth

This role is the single-threaded owner of developing and deploying robotic assembly and other automation solutions across AWS rack fulfillment manufacturing sites. You will analyze the AWS hardware requirements and work with 3rd party Automation suppliers to develop, pilot and scale automation solutions spanning EC2, Machine Learning, and Storage hardware platforms in manufacturing environments. Your work directly enables AWS to increase productivity and quality at these facilities and meet datacenter capacity commitments by ensuring manufacturing infrastructure scales efficiently, reliably, and repeatably across a global site network.

Possessing strong leadership, influencing skills, and technical depth are critical elements of success for this role. This leader will establish manufacturing standards and publish process control guidelines to assure flawless ramp into volume manufacturing.

Apply technical knowledge and hand on creation in AWS's Manufacturing sites to develop world class robotic solutions for maximum impact to our customers.
In depth understanding of relevant safety regulations for use of robotic equipment in close proximity to workers.
Design or provide input to part design to create the fixtures and equipment for robotic and semi-automated systems to aid in manufacturing at lowest cost and shortest cycle time
Develop systems and metrics to monitor progress and highlight opportunities of improvement in cost, cycle time, OEE
Train engineering and operations teams on new processes and techniques
Conducts Kaizen activities for continuous improvement of cost and cycle time
Collaborates with cross functional team members to gain knowledge and improve product design, processes, and quality.
Work with upstream vendors and downstream customers to optimize the entire value stream and put together joint processes that will lead better cost and cycle time.
Excellent communicator with an ability to concisely and precisely convey information to executives and cross functional teams
Needs to be an evangelist for teaching Automation to the organization.
Ability to multitask on several concurrent projects of med to high complexity
