What is a work based learning program with AWS?

A Work Based Learning Program with AWS is an educational initiative that combines classroom instruction with real-world work experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies. These programs are designed to help students and professionals gain hands-on cloud computing skills by working on projects, internships, or apprenticeships in partnership with employers. Participants learn about cloud infrastructure, deployment, and AWS services, making them more competitive in the job market. Such programs often include mentorship, industry certifications, and exposure to real business challenges.

How does participating in an AWS work based learning program help prepare candidates for a cloud-focused career?

Participating in an AWS Work-Based Learning Program offers hands-on experience with key AWS cloud services, allowing candidates to apply classroom concepts to real-world projects. You'll typically collaborate with mentors and teammates in a structured environment, working on tasks such as cloud migration, automation, and security configuration. This immersion helps build both technical and professional skills, making you more competitive for roles such as cloud support associate or solutions architect. Additionally, exposure to industry best practices and networking opportunities within the program can significantly accelerate your career growth in cloud computing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a work based learning program focused on AWS, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Work-Based Learning Program focused on AWS, you need foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts, basic programming skills, and familiarity with networking, supported by relevant coursework or entry-level certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner. Hands-on experience with AWS tools such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and the AWS Management Console is typically required, along with understanding of version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to learn, and effective communication are important soft skills for adapting to real-world technical environments. These skills and qualities are crucial for successfully applying cloud concepts in practical settings and collaborating with teams to solve business challenges.

Senior Manager, Learning & Development

Greenbrook Medical

Tampa, FL • On-site

Full-time

Job description

About Us

Greenbrook Medical is building the new standard in primary care.

We deliver high-touch, relationship-based care through neighborhood clinics, grounded in a simple belief: every senior deserves the kind of care we would want for our own families. Our model prioritizes time with patients, strong care coordination, and a personalized approach that improves outcomes while lowering total cost of care.

We take full accountability for patient outcomes and overall cost of care, aligning clinical excellence with disciplined execution. That commitment shows up in our results, including a patient Net Promoter Score of 91, compared to 32 for typical healthcare organizations.

Rooted in Tampa Bay and partnered with Tampa General Hospital, we are entering an exciting phase of growth. Backed by strong unit economics, experienced operators, and a proven playbook, we are looking for builders and operators who want to help scale a healthcare platform designed to deliver better care, better coordination, and better outcomes for seniors.

About the Role

As our Senior Manager, Learning & Development, you'll own the programs, systems, and execution that help our team members learn, grow, and deliver excellent care.

You'll build and run the operational infrastructure behind our training programs and partner closely with our Head of L&D. Your job is to take well-scoped programs and own them end-to-end: design, build, deliver, iterate.

This is a high-ownership, high-execution role. You're energized by building things that work, solving problems before they're handed to you, and seeing people succeed because of systems you put in place.

Location: Tampa Bay Area, FL (hybrid role with several days per week working on-site in clinics)

What You'll Do

Onboarding & Training Delivery

  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding sessions for new hires across the organization
  • Support hiring managers so every new hire feels prepared before their first day
  • Keep onboarding documentation organized and current in our systems (Notion)
  • Improve the program over time: lead the discovery, build, and delivery of new sessions as Greenbrook Medical evolves
  • Support our clinic-based Training & Enablement Leads in role specific learning experiences

Program Design & Curriculum Development

  • Own the design and delivery of core L&D programs
  • Iterate and facilitate train-the-trainer programs for clinic-based Training & Enablement Leads
  • Build video libraries, SOPs, and job aids in Notion so knowledge sharing is easy to use across the organization
  • Grow our training library; including building and improving programs like customer service training that reflect who we are and how we work

Knowledge Management & People Enablement

  • Keep people team resources well-organized and easy to find in Notion
  • Make data-informed recommendations for how to use knowledge management to help our teams do their jobs better
  • Support the setup and rollout of development plans in Lattice; track completion and partner with our HRBP on delivery

Data and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with our HRBP to use data to inform and prioritize programs and learning experiences.
  • Use data to make the case for what to build, change, or stop
  • Support setup and ongoing management of Lattice, including development plans, 1:1 tracking, and performance cycle logistics
  • Partner to identify and build out our learning management system

What Success Looks Like

  • ≥90% of new hires complete 90 day milestones on time (New hire onboarding completion rates and milestone sign-offs)
  • ≥80% of staff with an active, reviewed development plan in Lattice Grow following their first review cycle (Lattice engagement for growth and enablement initiatives)
  • ≥90% of managers holding bi-weekly 1:1s, tracked in Lattice
  • Training programs delivered, evaluated, and continuously improved using data-driven insights and program-specific success measures (e.g., surveys, performance outcomes, manager feedback, and other relevant metrics).

Note: Metrics will evolve with the business needs, these are where we are focused right now

About You

You bring:

  • 3+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, adult learning, or building employee development programs.
  • Experience owning L&D operations in a growing organization, including managing learning systems, documentation, stakeholder partnerships, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to confidently lead engaging sessions without relying on a script.
  • Instructional design expertise with a strong understanding of how adults learn and how to create effective, practical learning experiences.
  • Strong operational skills with the ability to manage the details behind building, launching, and improving learning programs.
  • A data-informed mindset with the ability to use metrics and feedback to measure effectiveness and improve programs.
  • A self-starter mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, take ownership, and move work forward in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to keep partners informed, flag challenges early, and advocate for what is needed to be successful.
  • Bachelor's degree required; coursework or certification in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, or related fields is a plus.

You'll stand out if you:

  • Have built learning programs from the ground up in a high-growth or scaling organization.
  • Have experience designing leadership development, manager training, or role-specific onboarding programs.
  • Have experience using tools like Notion, Lattice, or similar learning and performance platforms.
  • Have experience partnering closely with People, Operations, or functional leaders to identify capability gaps and build solutions.
  • Have experience in a healthcare, service-oriented, or frontline workforce environment.
  • Are someone who enjoys bringing structure to ambiguity and building systems that scale.
