Under the direction of the Director of Career Services, the Program Manager supports the daily operations and strategic initiatives of UC Clermont's Career Services Center. This position coordinates career programming, employer engagement activities, workforce development initiatives, communications, events, and operational functions that advance the college's commitment to career readiness and experiential learning.
Serving as a central connector between students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and community partners, the Program Manager helps students discover opportunities, access campus and community resources, engage in experiential learning, and prepare for meaningful careers. Working collaboratively across the college, this position builds relationships, supports employer partnerships, coordinates departmental operations, and enhances student engagement through high-quality programs, services, and outreach.
Student Support & Career Readiness
- Connect students with campus and community resources that support academic success, career readiness, experiential learning, basic needs, and personal well-being, while contributing to institutional efforts that promote student engagement, persistence, and degree completion.
- Provide initial career coaching and guidance to students by assisting with career exploration, work-based learning opportunities, career readiness and employment resources, special programs, and referrals to career services staff and campus partners, as appropriate.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Career Services programs, experiential learning opportunities, campus resources, and institutional processes to effectively assist students, make appropriate referrals, and support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of student career readiness portfolio tracking and assessment processes.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, campus partners, employers, alumni, and the Career Services team to coordinate programs, connect students with opportunities, and deliver high-quality services.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with university policies and applicable regulations.
Employer & Community Engagement
- Support and strengthen existing relationships while building new relationships with employers, workforce organizations, community agencies, alumni, and regional partners to expand career-connected learning opportunities for students.
- Coordinate employer engagement activities, including employer communications, recruiting logistics, campus visits, employer recognition initiatives, workforce development programming, and outreach that promotes employer involvement and career-connected learning opportunities for students.
Programs, Events & Communications
- Coordinate the planning and execution of Career Services Center programs and events, including career fairs, networking events, employer information sessions, workshops, and workforce development programming by managing event logistics, registration systems, scheduling, room reservations, event materials, day-of-event operations, and communications with students, employers, faculty, alumni, community partners, and event participants.
- Manage the Career Services Center's primary communication channels, including the departmental email account, phone line, social media platforms, and other digital communication tools, serving as the first point of contact for students, employers, faculty, alumni, and community partners while providing timely responses and appropriate referrals.
- Develop and distribute communications and marketing materials for Career Services programs, services, events, and employer engagement initiatives through social media, newsletters, promotional materials, website content, digital communications, and outreach efforts that increase awareness and participation.
Operations & Administrative Support
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Career Services Center by coordinating departmental calendars, scheduling, office logistics, operational workflows, and maintaining departmental procedures, documentation, and records while supporting continuous process improvement.
- Coordinate departmental purchasing, purchasing transactions, budget tracking, financial documentation, inventory management, and ordering of office, program, and event supplies.
- Coordinate administrative processes for student employees, including onboarding, scheduling, employment documentation, timekeeping, training, and day-to-day work direction.
- Support the coordination of departmental meetings, special projects, and operational initiatives to ensure efficient delivery of Career Services programs and services.
Data, Assessment & Reporting
- Collect, maintain, verify, and prepare reports on student career readiness, experiential learning, employer engagement, and program participation data to support departmental assessment, strategic planning, and continuous improvement.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development activities to remain current on career services, workforce development, student success, and higher education best practices.

Knowledge
Working knowledge of higher education, student support services, office operations, program coordination, and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Student Affairs, Communications, Workforce Development, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field.
One (1) year of experience in program coordination, event planning, employer engagement, administrative operations, workforce development, higher education, student services, or a related field
Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Ideally, experience working within or strong institutional knowledge of the University of Cincinnati, including university systems, policies, resources, and collaborative processes.
- Experience working with college students, particularly at an open-access institution.
- Experience developing employer, community, or workforce partnerships.
- Experience supporting student engagement, career readiness, advising, retention, or coordinated student support initiatives.
- Experience utilizing career management systems such as Handshake, student information systems, or CRM platforms.
