Job description

Wage - $26.05 per hour

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday

MTC is proud to operate the Hawaii Job Corps Center in Waimanalo, HI where our staff provide quality services to our local youth. We value our professional and caring employees who are dedicated to improving people’s lives and we want YOU to join our team!

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for coordinating all work based learning (WBL) activities both on and off center for all students. Coordinate work based learning for those students who do not reside in the local area, in compliance with government and management directives. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Develop on and off-center unpaid and paid WBL sites with training agencies and employers for the purpose of placing students for work-based learning and direct hire opportunities.  
  2. Coordinate scheduling of students for WBL is processed in a timely manner, and work closely with career training manager to ensure program goals are achieved. 
  3. Report student accountability daily to student records.
  4. Maintain student time cards, progress reviews and monitoring forms for each EBL participant and work site. Ensure time updates of case notes in CIS. 
  5. Participate in industry and community relations councils. Coordinate the advanced training application process for students who are eligible for advanced training placement. 

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree and three (3) years’ experience working with youth.
  • Experience with job development, marketing, or counseling related services. 
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
