Location: Frisco, Colorado

Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation:Proposed hiring rate of $24.50to $27.40+,actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

  • Benefits:This is a seasonal position eligible for seasonpassfor employees/dependents and privileges at several other resorts.Several discount programs (i.e.food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.)alsoavailable.

Job Summary:

A leadership position, accountable for an efficient and productive operation of the snowmaking system. Includes training of snowmakers, maintenance of all department equipment and all record keeping of the same. Assume Foreman and or controller responsibilities in their absence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of the snowmaking system.

  • Offer continual training andassistanceof the standard operational and safety practices to Level I & II snowmakers. Lead crew in trail set up.

  • Make snow according to all standard operating practices and safety procedures as instructedand oroutlined in the manuals set forth by Copper Mountain Resort.

  • Operate all transportation vehicles as per the standard operating procedures.

  • Undertake general building maintenance and housekeeping on a daily basis.

  • Accountable for all communication (reporting) with other departments (lifts, patrol, grooming, maintenance)in regards tolocation of equipment on open trails, closed trails, maintenancerequired, etc.)

  • Ensure that all maintenance, production,snowmobileand all other log / recordbookare kept up to date.

  • Set examples and reinforce positive motivation for the snowmaking crews.

  • Overtime may berequired.

  • This position may require the use of a mountain radio/walkie-talkies for communication

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

  • Level II snowmaker at Copper Mountain or equivalent

  • Summer snowmaking expansion experience (1 year)

  • Snowcat/Heavy equipment experience

  • Red Cross first Aid experience

  • Must be in good physical condition

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Colorado Snowmobile Certificate
