YOUR IMPACT IN THIS ROLE:
At the Woodson YMCA, we believe children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and inspired, and the same is true for our Child Care Team. In this role, you’ll create a developmentally appropriate, play-based learning environment while following Wisconsin Licensing Regulations and modeling our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position that comes with a robust benefits package.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
•    Help ensure staffing during our Monday-Friday, 6:30am-6:00pm open hours
•    Ensure the safety, supervision, and positive guidance of all children in your care
•    Assist with supervising and implementing engaging daily activities
•    Adhere to daily classroom schedule in accordance with the program
•    Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and staff
•    Communicate effectively with families while respecting confidentiality
•    Always maintain awareness of each child’s location and needs
•    Display and exemplify the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of job performance and in relationships with others
•    Be diligent in meeting child care licensing rules 
•    Perform other duties as assigned 
 

WHO YOU ARE:
•    An individual that is at least 18 years of age
•    You have completed high school or its equivalency as determined by the Department of Public Instruction
•    You’ve successfully completed, or will complete within 6 months of hire, Introduction to the Child Care or equivalent courses
•    You already have completed Infant and Toddler Care, or can complete it within 6 months of hire (if you wish to be hired for an infant or toddler classroom)
•    You have prior experience in a child care setting, or you have a positive attitude, meet the other requirements and show the capacity to succeed in the position (we are happy to train the right candidate)
•    You are able to complete a background check and occupational physical with the results required for the position
•    You have a current CPR certification, or can complete one within 3 months of hire
