Franklin International, a leading manufacturer of adhesives, coatings, and sealants is currently seeking a Technical Specialist with a background in Wood Science to join our Industrial Technical Service laboratoryThis position is responsible for a variety of technical functions which include: providing customers with product and process recommendations for improved performance, formulation of new adhesives, enhancement of existing products, and solving internal and external customers' problems.
Fundamental Job Tasks:
Enhances customer satisfaction by partnering with clients and co-workers to develop mutually agreeable solutions to problems.
  • Develops application solutions to ease the use of our products for increased revenue generation.
  • Provides value-added technical expertise at customer facilities and in the lab.
  • Utilizes scientific methods to generate resolutions to customer problems.
  • Translates customer needs into product and application solutions.
  • Interprets field, sales, and customer information and translates it into technical actions.
  • Promotes a positive image of the department to internal and external customers.
  • Responds to complaints positively and productively.
  • Develops relationships with key customers and internal departments.
  • Conveys timely results of research to customers in a clear and concise formats.

Maintains information flow by exhibiting superior communication and teaching skills.
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced lab personnel.
  • Informally trains or coaches field sales, customers, and peers.
  • Explains products, tests, and application information (verbal and written) to internal and external customers

Observes all safety and environmental guidelines while handling products, raw materials and wastes.
Knowledge and Skills:
Background in Wood Science or Wood Technology desired. HS/GED with 12 yrs industry/technical experience and proven track record in technical roles, or AS with 9 yrs technical experience, or BS with 3 yrs experience, or MS with no experience.
