Job description

CNC Wood Machine Operator Symbiotic Services is seeking a CNC Wood Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC woodworking equipment used to produce high-quality furniture components. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC woodworking equipment, including Northwood Roller Hold-Down Table CNC machines and Northwood Double-Head CNC machines.

Safely load and unload wood components and raw materials. Read and interpret work orders, production schedules, blueprints, and technical drawings. Set up machines for production runs, including tooling changes, fixture adjustments, and program selection.

Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and production standards. Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications. Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.

Identify and report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or material defects. Maintain accurate production records and documentation. Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to achieve production goals. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED.

Manufacturing or woodworking experience preferred. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations. Ability to read and understand production documents and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work throughout the shift.

Preferred Experience operating CNC woodworking equipment. Experience with Northwood CNC machinery. Knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Basic understanding of CNC programming and troubleshooting. Physical Requirements Regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and twist. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery. Work Environment This position is based in a furniture manufacturing facility.

Employees are expected to follow all safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting production goals.
