JOB SUMMARY:

Greensboro College Women's Basketball is searching for a dedicated assistant coach. The individual will assist in all aspects of coaching, including practice planning, recruiting, scouting, skill development, fundraising, and everything the coaching profession entails. Greensboro College is located in Greensboro, NC and competes in the USA South conference.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with on-court coaching – 40%

  • Sets up for practices.
  • Runs drills.
  • Directs team warm-up and stretching.
  • Instructs and motivates players.

Recruit student athletes – 20%

  • Attends high school games.
  • Evaluates players.
  • Communicates with coaches and players.

Advises and monitors the academic progress of student athletes – 20%

  • Ensures player progress toward degree completion.
  • Provides advice and support to students.
  • Coordinates community service opportunities for student-athletes.

Assists in the development of game and practice schedules – 10%

  • Schedules gym time and creates practice schedules.
  • Assists in coordinating game schedules.

Assists in coordinating team travel – 5%

  • Prepares expense reports and travel authorizations.
  • Coordinates meals and hotels.

Performs related duties – 5%

  • Downloads game and practice recordings for breakdown.
  • Assists in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the basketball program.
  • Game and practice equipment management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Collegiate playing or coaching experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High energy with ability to work in group settings to achieve highest level of performance
