HYBRID ROLE - SAP EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Job Purpose:
The Regional Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis and computer programming. This position will manage WMS configuration and Facility set-up while supporting the long term evolution of our Distribution Network.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support overall Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) business and Standard Operating Processes.
• Act effectively as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on WMS applications in order to provide required support for Long Term operational vision.
• Responsible to lead all configuration initiative activities in support of our National Distribution Network.
• Track all project status and issues; escalate roadblocks as necessary.
• Work with local site management and corporate resources to resolve conflicts and communicate solutions.
• Participate in site specific requirement meetings to drive to solutions for complex operational and system problems.
• Identify local site requirements and work with corporate teams to solve. Document identified solutions.
• Identify and escalate continuous improvement opportunities.
• Perform user support during WMS project Implementations, upgrades etc.
• Manage WMS end user training content and tool development activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:
SAP WMS Focus
• Serve as regional SAP WM/EWM Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting all SAP-enabled distribution sites, including legacy OPS "chalkline" facilities.
• Lead SAP warehouse configuration, integration, and optimization efforts, including alignment with upstream/downstream processes
• Partner with IT and functional teams to drive SAP WMS enhancements, defect resolution, and system stabilization across acquired sites.
• Support and lead SAP WMS implementations, migrations, and conversions (non-SAP → SAP or decentralized → standardized model).
• Analyze site operational performance using SAP data to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and automation opportunities.
• Act as key liaison between operations, IT, and external SAP vendors/consultants.
• Provide advanced user support and troubleshooting for complex SAP WMS issues beyond typical site-level capability.
• Drive master data integrity and governance (storage types, bin structures, material masters, handling units, etc.).
• Lead SAP-related continuous improvement initiatives, including RF optimization, labor management integration, and system-driven productivity gains.
• Deep expertise in SAP WM and/or Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) configuration and support.
• Strong understanding of SAP integration points across ERP modules (MM, SD, PP, TM).
• Experience with SAP implementation lifecycles, including blueprinting, testing, cutover, and hypercare support.
• Ability to translate warehouse operations into SAP system design requirements.
• Knowledge of data structures, master data governance, and reporting within SAP environments.
• Experience supporting multi-site SAP environments, especially in post-acquisition integration scenarios.
• Change management experience to drive adoption of standardized SAP processes across diverse legacy operations.
• Distribution Facility Start-up experience a Plus.
• High aptitude in Facility Layout and design.
• Typically requires overnight travel nearing 60% of the time (estimate).
Work Experience:
• 5-10 years of related job experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• A thorough understanding of distribution management (customer service, sales, purchasing, warehouse, credit, information systems, and logistics) that is preferably from a large, national, or decentralized organization.
• Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
• Experience designing data models and visuals using Power BI and Tableau.
• Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.
• Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames.
• Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
• Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.
• Experience working with ERP systems, contract management, CRM systems and project management tools preferred.
• Knowledge of major ERP (enterprise resource planning) software applications such as SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft.
• Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
• Strong planning and organization skills are required.
