Job description

River City Transport is hiring full-time CDL A Regional Dry Van Drivers in the Midwest. At River City Transport, drivers aren't an afterthought — they're the backbone of everything we do. As a family-owned, asset-based carrier with dedicated contracts serving some of North America's largest shippers, we offer the stability of a big carrier with the personal touch you won't find anywhere else. Compensation:

  • Average weekly pay range: $1,200 - $1,800
    • 55 - 60 CPM experience based rate
    • Average weekly miles: 2,200 - 2,800
    • All miles paid, loaded & unloaded
  • Additional Pay:
    • Breakdown Pay: $150 per day if no replacement unit is available
    • Layover Pay: $150
    • Detention Pay: $25 per hour after 2 free hours
    • Extra holiday pay: $150 incentive for driving on a holiday (8 holidays per year)
    • Clean level 1 inspection report: $100
  • Bonuses:
    • Referral bonus: $1,500 paid in increments over 1 year
    • Quarterly Safety Bonus: $250 - $1,000
      • Safe driving (no accidents or infractions)
      • 100% On time deliveries & pick ups

    • Iowa – Kansas – Indiana
    • Kansas – Ohio – Missouri – Indiana
    • Wisconsin – Pennsylvania – Georgia – Indiana
    • Wisconsin – Pennsylvania – Iowa/Kansas
  • Level of Touch: 100% No-touch freight, 70% drop & hook

Equipment:

  • 2022 - 2027 Freightliner & International Sleeper Trucks
  • Automatic transmission fleet
  • Amenities: Refrigerators, XM radio, new mattresses, heated & cooled seats
  • Governed Speed: 70 MPH
  • Outward cameras, event triggered
  • ELD equipped using Samsara system

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 23 years of age
  • Must have CDL A license
  • Must have a minimum of 2 year verifiable commercial tractor-trailer driving experience
  • No DUI's or felony driving convictions in the last 5 years
  • No major violations in the last 3 years
  • No more than 3 minor violations in the last 3 years
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be able to pass a background check and required pre-employment drug screen
