Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Direct Sales Consultant is responsible for the promotion and sale of Dobson Fiber products and services to residential customers in the Lawton, OK area. This role includes sales opportunities for sales to single family units and sales to multiple dwelling units through Dobson fiber’s relationships with property management.
Job Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of Dobson’s products and services as well as sales process experience to maximize sales and effectively work assigned territories.
  • Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of Dobson Fiber’s products, promoting and selling offerings to individual customers by visiting every home within assigned territory. Displays thorough and recent competitive knowledge of features, benefits, product differences, and pricing of residential home internet.
  • Effectively communicates and develops rapport with customers. Evaluates individual customers' existing and potential product needs and makes recommendations. Increases customer understanding of Dobson Fiber’s service and pricing as well as competitive advantages over other service providers.
  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Creates and executes turf management plans without assistance, utilizes experience-based sales technique, operates independently.
  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers’ needs.
  • Accurately completes all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines, including but not limited to the following: dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.
  • Supports team and team goals by actively participating in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Well-informed about our competitors' activities in assigned territory; informs manager of any changing competitive pricing programs, marketing directives, or door-to-door sales tactics.
  • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications and Essential Functions:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivator with a knack for working independently.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills, that help support the best customer solutions.
  • Reliable personal vehicle (where applicable), valid driver license, car insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to, the ability to walk and/or travel door-to-door for considerable distances in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to work full time.
  • A willingness to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, set-top converters, and wireless devices).
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
