As a Senior Network and Radio Engineer Signaling, you will be working on the design, development, and integration of our advanced CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) system. In this role, you will ensure that our signaling and communication systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance while also satisfying customer requirements and industry regulations.
Key Activities
  • Design, plan, and implement Wi-Fi networks to ensure optimal coverage, performance, and security.
  • Conduct site surveys to identify optimal access point placement and minimize interference.
  • Develop and implement template radio architectures, tailoring them to project requirements and integrating performance characteristics according to customer specifications.
  • Configure and optimize Data Communication Systems (DCS) for CBTC systems.
  • Evaluate DCS design and architecture to enhance system architecture focusing on network security.
  • Manage a team of DCS engineers, including resource allocation and budgeting.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in wired and wireless network technologies (Wi-Fi and LTE).
  • 10+ years of experience in wireless network design and planning; Signaling experience preferred.
  • Experience working on large design-build projects for communications systems.
  • Ability to design scalable and efficient Wi-Fi networks tailored to specific environments and requirements.
  • Proficiency in analyzing radio frequency spectrum, identifying interference sources, and optimizing signal quality for maximum performance.
  • Hands-on experience in radio design (radio propagation, network layout, antenna selection, fast roaming, radio interference survey, and radio link budget) and network configuration (layer 2 & 3).
  • Team player with excellent social skills and sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written. German is a plus.
  • Ability to relocate to Atlanta, GA (if applicable).
