Job description

TEST AND COMMISSIONING ENGINEER
At Stadler, we don't just build trains-we help shape the future of transportation. As a Test & Commissioning Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our rail vehicles and systems perform safely, reliably, and efficiently before entering service.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, solving technical challenges, and seeing the direct impact of their work in the field. You'll work with advanced technology, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help launch transportation systems that move thousands of passengers every day. As this role evolves, you will be involved in Stadler's cutting-edge Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling solutions, helping develop test environments, execute validation campaigns, and support system integration efforts from the lab through real-world deployment. This is a unique opportunity to work with advanced transportation technology and to play a key role in bringing critical infrastructure projects to life.
Why Join Stadler?
When you join Stadler, you're joining a global leader in rail vehicle manufacturing and signaling technology. You'll work on innovative projects that make a real difference in communities across North America while building a rewarding career.
Benefits include:
  • Competitive compensation with profit-sharing potential
  • Low-cost medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage
  • 401(k) with company match after 90 days
  • Generous paid time off
  • Nine (9) paid holidays plus an extended paid holiday from December 25 through January 1
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities
  • Tuition and training reimbursement
  • Paid maternity and parental leave
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • Employee referral bonus program

What You'll Do
  • Plan and execute testing and commissioning activities for rail vehicles and systems
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during testing and commissioning
  • Analyze test results and document findings
  • Verify system functionality, performance, and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and customer teams
  • Support vehicle validation and customer acceptance activities
  • Travel to project sites as needed to support testing and commissioning efforts
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system optimization

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, controls, automation, systems integration, or related technical disciplines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to travel as projects require
  • Rail industry experience is a plus

We encourage candidates from manufacturing, automation, aerospace, automotive, industrial controls, energy, military, and other complex technical industries to apply.
