Engineering Intern – Test Automation

EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products.

As an Engineering Intern – Test Automation, you’ll develop automated testing software for the infrastructure product line using Python and other mainstream languages in both Windows and Linux environments. Projects include automated test development and LMR lab configuration. This position will conduct security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.



Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a team of multiple discipline engineers, taking assignments and guidance from lead engineers on projects.
  • Read, Interpret, and Implement software based on requirements, high level designs (HLD), detailed designs (DD), and guidance from lead engineers.
  • Respond to special assignments/projects as directed by management, with an attitude and willingness conducive to getting the job done.
  • Respond with a level of urgency consistent with the situation.
  • Establish and maintain good inter/intra departmental communications and the highest level of credibility with coworkers at all levels.
  • Exhibit desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals.
  • Complete additional duties as required.
  • Agree to abide by the established Approval Matrix.


Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a program that will result in a Bachelor’s or Masters’ Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with Object Oriented design methodologies.
  • Experience with Python programming language (Perl and Selenium are a plus).
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, and or GitLab (GitLab CI is a plus).
  • Knowledge of IP communication, RTP protocols is a plus.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, IA, IAM, CE, DOD, GIAC, SANS, CAP, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
