Expert LevelSenior Wireless Engineer (Ekahau Specialist)

Duration: 12-Week Contract

Location: Tampa, FL Area (100% Onsite)

Travel: Extensive travel to locations throughout the Greater Tampa Bay Area

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Wireless Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise Wi-Fi design, validation, and optimization. This is a highly visible, hands-on role focused on assessing wireless environments, creating predictive wireless designs, conducting site surveys, and ensuring wireless networks can support critical business applications.

The ideal candidate will be an Ekahau expert who can lead wireless assessments, troubleshoot complex RF issues, and provide recommendations that improve performance, coverage, capacity, and reliability.

Key ResponsibilitiesWireless Design & Architecture
  • Create predictive wireless designs for enterprise environments using Ekahau AI Pro.
  • Develop wireless architecture recommendations for campuses, healthcare facilities, warehouses, manufacturing sites, and office environments.
  • Design networks that support performance, scalability, and high-density user requirements.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and deployment recommendations.
Wireless Site Surveys & Validation
  • Conduct onsite passive, active, and spectrum analysis surveys.
  • Utilize Ekahau Sidekick 2 and Ekahau AI Pro to collect and analyze wireless data.
  • Validate wireless coverage, capacity, roaming performance, and application readiness.
  • Identify coverage gaps, interference sources, and performance bottlenecks.
RF Troubleshooting & Optimization
  • Diagnose and resolve complex wireless issues related to RF interference, roaming, client performance, and capacity constraints.
  • Analyze spectrum data and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Optimize wireless deployments to improve end-user experience and operational reliability.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
  • Create executive-ready wireless assessment reports and heatmaps.
  • Present findings, remediation plans, and infrastructure recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable roadmaps to improve wireless performance and readiness.
Technical Leadership
  • Establish wireless deployment standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior technicians and engineers on wireless survey methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Serve as the primary wireless subject matter expert on assessment and deployment projects.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of enterprise wireless engineering experience.
  • Expert-level experience with Ekahau AI Pro and Ekahau Sidekick.
  • Strong understanding of RF design, spectrum analysis, and wireless troubleshooting.
  • Experience conducting passive, active, and spectrum surveys.
  • Experience creating predictive wireless designs and site assessment reports.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ECSE-Design or ECSE-Advanced certification.
  • CWNA, CWDP, or related wireless certifications.
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst Wireless, Aruba, or Mist wireless platforms.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise wireless deployments.
  • Healthcare, manufacturing, or campus environment experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $58.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
