Minneapolis, MN | $25 - $32/hour | Contract to Hire or Direct Hire

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Panel Builder / Wire Technician to join our control panel shop. This role is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels in accordance with schematics, wiring diagrams, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, and hands-on experience working with industrial control systems.

Panel Builder Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Measure, cut, strip, and terminate wires to ensure accurate connections.
  • Assemble electrical components such as relays, switches, terminal blocks, PLCs, and circuit breakers into control panels.
  • Route and bundle wiring neatly and according to industry standards (UL508A).
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform point-to-point continuity checks and basic troubleshooting of wiring issues.
  • Label wires, components, and panels for clarity and compliance.

Panel Builder Qualifications

  • High school diploma or technical certification in electrical or related field.
  • Experience in control panel assembly or industrial wiring (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with UL508A standards and NEC requirements (a plus).
