Job description

Essential Job Functions:

• Read and understand detailed wire order requirements on printed pick tickets including but not limited to specifications on wire gauge size, cut length, conductor type, jacketing type, color, inclusion of any assets involved, and/or pulling head preferences.

• Operate wire machines that pull and measure lengths of wire to customers' requirements.

• Double check machine readings against printed sequential footage reading on the cable.

• Perform clean and safe wire cuts at the specified lengths.

• Properly install and crimp pulling heads to wire, when needed.

• Inspect, package, and wrap finished goods to internally articulated standard of quality.

• Examine pulled wire for conformance to specifications and removes defective pieces.

• Follow established procedures of handling stock and stock discrepancies.

• Keep warehouse – including bins, aisles, machines, and workspaces – clean and orderly.

• Observe safe forklift operations.

• Observe all company safety procedures and attend all mandatory safety meetings.

• Continue training on field application and use of wire and various electrical products.

• Parallel multiple runs of wire into one single pull whenever specified in customer order instructions.

• Stack (“sim stack”) multiple runs on top of each other on the same output device whenever specified in customer order requirements.

• Follow all medium voltage handling, cutting, and sealing techniques provided through on the job training.

• Reconfigure and replenish wire-hanging stock as directed by direct supervisors.

• Perform other duties assigned

• Work mandatory overtime as needed


Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment contributing to a high-performing team.

• Working knowledge of electrical parts and inventory.

• Experience working in the Electrical Distribution Industry or Construction Industry preferred.

• Experience working in Warehouse environment preferred.

• Previous experience in a high-output, wire distribution warehouse and/or an electrical contractor field wire-pulling environment.
