40 Hours/Week | 12-Month Position (starting July 1, 2026)
Pay Range: $21.33 $25.09 per hour

Northland Learning Center Cooperative is seeking a detail-oriented AP/Payroll Specialist to manage payroll, accounts payable, employee benefits administration, and financial compliance functions within the business office. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate employee compensation, vendor payments, benefits administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly payroll and administer time-tracking systems.
  • Manage employee leave tracking, employment verifications, and payroll-related reporting.
  • Administer employee and retiree benefits, including enrollments, updates, COBRA, and insurance reconciliation.
  • Process accounts payable, purchase orders, invoices, checks, wire transfers, and month-end receipts.
  • Prepare and remit payroll taxes and retirement contributions (PERA, TRA, state and federal agencies).
  • Generate and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and 1095 forms.
  • Maintain accurate financial and employee records while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 25 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, benefits administration, or related financial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, HR/payroll systems, benefits administration, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information.
