What is the difference between Wire Rope Splicing vs Rigger?
| Aspect | Wire Rope Splicing | Rigger |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Certifications in rigging and safety, sometimes specialized splicing training | Rigging certifications, OSHA safety training |
| Work Environment | Industrial sites, construction, maritime, manufacturing | Construction sites, cranes, heavy lifting operations |
| Industry Usage | Used for creating secure wire rope connections | Used for lifting, securing loads, and rigging setups |
Wire Rope Splicing focuses on creating secure connections in wire ropes through specialized techniques, while Riggers are responsible for setting up and managing lifting operations. Both roles require safety certifications and often work together in industrial and construction environments, but their primary functions differ: splicing is technical work on wire ropes, whereas rigging involves planning and executing lifts.
