Job description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production equipment and facility systems. In this role, you will perform a wide range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment installations. You will work closely with production, operations, and fellow maintenance team members to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates with experience in precision manufacturing equipment—including CNC machinery and Wire EDM systems (Sodick strongly preferred)—are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, press brakes, Wire EDM equipment (Sodick preferred), and other advanced manufacturing machinery
• Perform diversified mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diagnostic tasks, including root cause analysis and corrective action
• Troubleshoot, service, and maintain Wire EDM systems with an understanding of cutting conditions, threading mechanisms, dielectric systems, and calibration
• Support and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Conduct component rebuilds, alignments, calibrations, and detailed testing to ensure optimal machine accuracy and performance
• Read and interpret advanced technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, OEM manuals, and ladder logic
• Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and ensure equipment is returned to safe, reliable operation
• Utilize precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) and diagnostic instruments (multimeters, thermal devices)
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine downtime
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized service needs
• Support general upkeep of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, building infrastructure, and interior/exterior painting and surface preparation
• Assist with equipment moves, facility layout changes, and small-scale improvement projects
• Support grounds maintenance activities, including snow removal and routine outdoor work
• Accurately document maintenance activities, parts usage, and corrective actions in the work order system
• Follow all safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and support updates to procedures, training, and spare parts inventory
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in alignment with safety and 5S/lean standards
• Participate in long‑term maintenance planning and assist with identifying capital improvement needs

Skills & Qualifications
• Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
• Experience with CNC machines, industrial controls, hydraulics/pneumatics, and precision equipment
• Strong knowledge of Wire EDM maintenance and setup (Sodick experience preferred)
• Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming concepts
• Proficiency with measurement tools and diagnostic instruments
• Solid understanding of industrial safety practices including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash precautions, and machine guarding
• Ability to read schematics, drawings, electrical prints, and diagrams
• Strong problem‑solving, prioritization, and follow‑through skills with high personal accountability
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
• Ability to navigate computer systems and enter information accurately.

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical degree, trade school training, craft apprenticeship, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
• 5+ years of industrial, mechanical, or electro‑mechanical maintenance experience
• Experience with CNC equipment, industrial electrical systems, hydraulics/pneumatics, and industrial facility maintenance
• Certifications in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or related fields are a plus

Working Conditions
• Required to respond to weather events, including early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed
• Exposure to loud noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment
• Routine outdoor work when necessary
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
