We are seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to support our operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate handling, documentation, and movement of raw materials, wire and cable products, and finished goods. This role ensures timely receipt of inbound materials, proper storage, and accurate shipment of outbound orders while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production and customer delivery requirements.
Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare and process outbound shipments of wire, cable, reels, spools, and related products.
  • Verify customer orders, quantities, and packaging requirements before shipment.
  • Generate shipping documents including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels.
  • Coordinate with carriers (LTL, truckload, parcel) to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure shipments comply with company, customer, and carrier requirements.
  • Load trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead lifting equipment as required.

Receiving Duties
โ€ข Receive inbound raw materials (copper, aluminum, insulation compounds, reels, packaging, etc.)
โ€ข Inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and compliance with purchase orders
โ€ข Record receipts in the ERP or inventory management system
โ€ข Tag, label, and properly store materials in designated warehouse locations
โ€ข Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to purchasing or supervision
Inventory & Warehouse Support
โ€ข Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and adjustments
โ€ข Assist with physical inventory counts
โ€ข Stage materials for production and shipment as needed
โ€ข Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and safe
Follow FIFO and material traceability requirements
Safety & Compliance
โ€ข Follow all OSHA, company, and safety procedures
โ€ข Properly handle heavy reels, spools, and finished cable products
โ€ข Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of shipping and receiving or warehouse experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Experience handling industrial products, reels, or heavy materials is a plus
  • Familiarity with shipping paperwork and carrier coordination
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and labels

Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience with ERP or inventory systems
  • Knowledge of wire and cable products or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Understanding of material traceability and lot control

Work Environment
The essential functions of this job require working within a production facility with exposure to various noise levels, heat and moving machinery.
Willingness to work evening hours and rotating weekend shift; and overtime as needed.
