UNIX/Wintel System Administrator || Plano, TX || 10+ Years

About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced UNIX/Wintel System Administrator to manage and maintain our critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both UNIX and Windows environments, with in-depth knowledge of operating systems, storage, and networking.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain UNIX and Wintel systems.
Develop and implement scripting solutions (Python, Perl, or Shell).
Manage storage environments and file systems.
Configure and troubleshoot network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, UDP).
Implement and manage backup and recovery procedures.
Perform detailed system troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Ensure system security and performance.
Essential Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Extensive experience in UNIX and Wintel system administration.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, or Shell).
Strong understanding of operating systems, storage, and file systems.
Knowledge of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, UDP).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX commands, and file manipulation.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with both UNIX and Wintel environments.
Knowledge of advanced storage management techniques.
Experience with automation tools and technologies.
Knowledge of Cloud environments.
