Job description

Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to join our Sales team in a remote/work-from-home capacity with 50%+ travel across the U.S. west of the Mississippi. Midwest-based candidates are strongly preferred to support territory coverage and travel efficiency. In this role, you will lead a team of Area Sales Managers and drive profitable growth across strategic regional accounts by strengthening customer relationships, expanding market penetration, and reinforcing the value of the Winpak brand. In addition to leading your team, the role includes managing a portfolio of accounts directly.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and support Area Sales Managers and/or regional office personnel to achieve territory and account objectives.
  • Through direct management and oversight of direct reports, and by working directly with customers and internal teams:

    • Manage strategic regional accounts to maximize profitable sales opportunities and expand market penetration.
    • Coordinate and oversee order-related documentation and workflows to support accurate production and on-time shipping aligned with customer expectations.
    • Prepare and route price deviations as required, ensuring compliance with applicable competition laws and internal approvals.
    • Communicate customer requirement changes (e.g., lead times, order size, product changes) to internal partners and customers to support proactive planning.
    • Support receivables collection efforts and maintain accurate logs for orders, inventory (where applicable), and delivery schedules.
    • Provide sales forecasts by customer across Winpak product lines; manage sales expense budgets and ensure accurate, timely expense reporting.
    • Monitor competitor activity and provide timely updates on market capabilities and developments; represent Winpak at trade shows and seminars as needed.

  • Promote teamwork and cross-functional collaboration while performing responsibilities in alignment with ISO 9001 standards and Winpak policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) is an asset.
  • 2+ years of national account selling experience.
  • 5+ years of packaging experience (technical and/or commercial) with a focus on strategic sales growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow business within large, complex customer organizations and develop strong customer partnerships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of working to KPIs and achieving targets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • The ability to travel 50%+ is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading and developing sales teams (coaching, performance management, and execution through others).
  • Experience navigating pricing governance, deviations, and approval workflows in regulated or highly competitive markets.
  • Familiarity working cross-functionally with R&D, Technical, Customer Service, Operations, and Quality partners.

Additional Details
  • Work arrangement: Remote/work-from-home with travel to customer sites and Winpak locations as business needs require.
  • Expense accountability: Role is accountable for territory expenses in accordance with Winpak travel and expense policies.

Compensation range
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise and is subject to vary. The range is $160k-190k
