JOB SUMMARY
The Bottling Control Technician supports and maintains automation, PLC, HMI, drive, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems across the bottling facility to ensure reliable plant operations. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing automation and electrical issues to maximize production uptime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The technician also assists with preventative maintenance, system upgrades, continuous improvement efforts, and automation reliability initiatives. Working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and external vendors, this position helps drive overall plant performance and efficiency while maintaining compliance with GMP, FSSC, electrical safety, and company policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Support and maintain automation systems on bottling, packaging, conveying, labeling, filling, and processing equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on controls and automation systems to improve equipment reliability.
  • Support production uptime by responding to electrical and automation breakdowns with urgency and effective troubleshooting.
  • Modify and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programs as needed.
  • Configure and troubleshoot communication networks including Ethernet/IP and industrial control networks.
  • Support project work involving equipment upgrades, automation integration, and controls improvements.
  • Assist in startup, commissioning, and validation of new or modified equipment.
  • Maintain documentation for electrical systems, automation changes, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to support repairs, upgrades, and parts sourcing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with GMP and food safety standards.
  • Participate in weekly planning, maintenance, and production meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and automation systems.
  • Must have knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and industrial controls.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell automation systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills required.
  • Manufacturing, food & beverage, or packaging industry experience preferred.
  • Must be safety minded and committed to electrical safety and GMP standards.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment.

COMPENSATION
  • Hourly Pay Range Posted: $37.31 - $55.96/hr.
  • Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge and abilities, education, and other position-related factors.
