Job Summary:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing specialized cleaning duties to disinfect and maintain the cleanliness of the surgery center, including restrooms, patient areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and specialty areas.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.

  • Sweep, mop, scrub, or vacuum floors and mix cleaning solutions.

  • Maintain daily logs of cleaning activities.

  • Clean windows, glass, furniture, walls, and equipment.

  • Collect and dispose of general and biohazardous waste.

  • Maintain and organize cleaning equipment and supplies.

  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors; move heavy furniture and equipment.

  • Requisition cleaning supplies and notify managers of needed repairs.

  • Monitor building security and safety after hours.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and proper safety procedures.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

  • Basic math and computer skills (Word, Windows).
