Sr. IT/Software Tech Support
Location: Chicago IL - 2x /week onsite
Duration: 12 months
As a Software Support Senior Associate you are responsible for supporting numerous Windows desktop applications. You work hard to stay on top of fast changing technology and invest a lot of energy in learning new tricks. You are caught up on industry trends in client development frameworks and also anticipate what the near future will bring. Furthermore:
  • You bring 5+ years of experience with
  • Windows Servers
  • Windows Desktop
  • Vended Applications ( in-house and SaaS )
  • SQL/Oracle databases
  • Middleware Web Services
  • Web Applications, You have a strong understanding of APIs and how to use them in practice.

You have Knowledge of:
  • Windows infrastructure: Understanding of domain groups from a software support perspective.
  • Directory security and permissions. Basic familiarity with networking concepts such as firewall rules, VPN, access lists, etc.
  • Our tech stack: Java / Pivotal Cloud Foundry / SQL / Microsoft Windows / Oracle Web-Logic / HCL Notes / Networking / Windows Servers / API

As a Software Support Senior Associate , you will:
  • Partner with the development team, business support, end users, and other IT personnel to support and implement end to end solutions.
  • Use basic programming knowledge to create or modify scripts and programs.
  • Constantly looks for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution by not being afraid of challenging the status quo.
  • Mentor and coach others on the team.
  • Support existing software systems and platforms and hook in applications to applicable data sources
  • Write both unit and integration tests and develop automation tools for daily tasks
  • Create and maintain Disaster Recovery plans and participate in DR Testing
  • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions to understand the application that is being transferred to support.
