Job description

Maintenance Assistant
The Maintenance Assistant delivers exceptional service to residents, visitors, and team members by ensuring quality maintenance care of the facility, grounds, and equipment. Maintains a safe, clean, and compliant environment in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Works under the direction of the Maintenance Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and document preventative maintenance programs for the facility and equipment.
  • Maintain grounds, including lawn care, exterior repairs, and coordination with landscaping and trash removal services.
  • Maintain interior areas, including carpet/furniture cleaning, window washing, flooring maintenance, and minor repairs.
  • Prepare and refurbish resident apartments for move-ins (painting, carpet/vinyl replacement, ceiling fan installation, etc.).
  • Inspect resident apartments for potential issues and safety hazards.
  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance and maintain quality assurance records.
  • Perform janitorial duties as needed.
  • Transport residents in company vehicles (requires proof of insurance and consent to motor vehicle record check).
  • Respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours as necessary.
  • Assist with drills, emergency systems, and other community technology systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Licensure:
  • Associate degree preferred, with 2-5 years related experience; or accredited maintenance training with 4-6 years related experience.
  • Applicable state licensure, if required.
  • Must obtain and maintain Chauffeur License within 30 days of hire.
  • Complete Transportation Safety Training within 30 days of hire.
