Job description

SUMMARY
This is a part-time position with responsibilities to include cleaning and upkeep in our men's locker room. This position is responsible for cleaning assigned areas of building. In addition, every position in the Montgomery YMCA is responsible for modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility Hours of work: Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment
  2. Sanitize showers, saunas, clean empty lockers in men's locker room,
  3. Wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, vacuuming, wax floors, check for maintenance problems and general cleaning
  4. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies
  5. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment
  6. Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   1. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  2. Ability to report and record maintenance requests.

  5. Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
No prior experience or training required
CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAININGS
Current CPR First Aid/AED or within 30 days of hire.
Required YMCA Safety Trainings
