Job description

Overview


The Maintenance & Facilities Technician works on-site, hands-on completes the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the campus and facilities in McMinnville Or and oversees outside vendors & contractors (as needed/requested by Maintenance Manager). The responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to) use and upkeep of maintenance work order system, preventative and active maintenance of milling equipment, electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, company vehicles, snow removal, landscaping, janitorial/ custodial, and code compliance. The Facilities and Maintenance technician executes and oversees projects that maintain and support safety in our facilities and efficiency in production where equipment and mechanical systems are involved.

  • Expert Mechanical Maintenance Skills (trucks, forklifts, and mill equipment etc.)
  • Strong ability to price, negotiate, and supervise all outside vendor & contractor services.
  • Skilled Facilities Maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, code compliance.)
  • Strong production equipment trouble shooting and preventative maintenance skills.
  • Strong Building Safety Experience and Attention to Detail.

Primary responsibilities:

Production and Workshop Maintenance

  • Maintain equipment records, preventative maintenance schedules, and work orders using the Fiix system.
  • Analyze equipment failures and determine best course of internal action or outside vendor action to remedy the situation in a time and cost-efficient manner.
  • Utilize and manage outside vendors where appropriate to maintain equipment and limit downtime.
  • Work as a team to train other facilities and maintenance personnel when appropriate and lead additional coworkers when needed for larger jobs.
  • Ensure company fleet is maintained and ready for service when needed.
    • Maintain equipment to USDOT requirements.
    • Maintain records, registrations, and inspections of all vehicles and equipment where required.
  • Provide guidance for any operator completed maintenance including PMs.


Safety & Compliance:

Support and adhere to safety regulations and programs in accordance with company policy, local, state, and federal laws.

  • Ensure building and campus safety compliance of equipment including (but not limited to): general safety violations, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, dust collection system, lighting, exits, and accessibility.
  • Work with company safety committees to ensure completion of safety inspections and compliance with our insurance company, OSHA, municipal fire inspection, and all others.


Facilities Exterior & Interior:

The campus grounds, office, and showroom must be maintained to a presentable standard of appearance for employees, guests, clients, and the general public with responsibilities including (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for all repair and scheduled maintenance for buildings, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.
  • General Landscaping: lawn mowing, trimming, sweeping, raking, planting.
  • General janitorial/ custodial: occasional moping, window cleaning, lightbulb replacement, etc,
  • Maintenance of Parking Lot: snow plowing/removal, shoveling, repairs, removal of debris, maintenance of parking lot lines/spaces etc.
  • Visual Maintenance: painting, staining, oiling, calking as needed on walls, floors, windows etc.
  • Roof & Gutter maintenance.
  • Window Maintenance.


Misc.

  • Research: Parts, equipment, sourcing, vendors etc.
  • Maintain facilities room, equipment, tools, and inventory.
  • Proficiency with verbal and written communication including common computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Web, Phone, and text etc.)
  • Travel as assigned.
  • Special Projects as assigned.

The base salary range for this position is $23-$28 an hour.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
