Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to assign work based on shop order control schedules and assure necessary materials, tools and proper equipment is available to perform such work required.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Communicates and instructs multiple employees in daily work assignments
  • Follows specific direction from Production Supervisor and verifies these directions are carried out.
  • Stage/set up jobs for employees on line ahead of time.
  • Verifies employees are following methods/procedures for fabrication & quality control.
  • Communicates Non-conforming product issue back to production personnel.
  • Substitute for Production Supervisor in event of absence.
  • Make sure fabrication area is kept organized and 5S polices are followed.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED (minimum)
  • Fabrication experience (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, ect.)
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence

At YKK AP America Inc., pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $18.21-$22.16, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. 

Travel Requirements:

 Travel required for this position is less than 5%.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 

Work Environment:

 The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  An individual may be required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments as outlined by safety program rules.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.  There will be periods of exposure to high heat.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
