As a Garage Door Technician at Precision Garage Door Service, youโ€™ll receive training so that you can be up and running quickly with your own company vehicle and stream of customers. We will train and provide you with all the necessary tools to grow your career as far as you want to take it.


You will be front and center helping our customers by repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors. Youโ€™ll put the customers at ease, making sure they fully understand the service options available thatโ€™ll get the job done correctly.



Pay and Benefits

We offer competitive pay that will meet or beat any trade. During your 90-day training period you will receive hourly training pay. After training, you will receive commissions on the work you complete. Most technicians make between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.

Your Responsibilities as a Service Technician


As a Garage Door Technician, youโ€™ll be responsible for repairing and installing garage door parts and equipment on-site at our customerโ€™s location.


ยท Diagnose and Repair โ€“ Youโ€™ll be responsible for repairing garage doors, door operators, replacing worn or broken door parts, installing new equipment including doors, and replacing springs.

ยท Educating the Customer โ€“ Youโ€™ll explain in detail and help the customer understand their options to repair the issue and prevent future ones. After the work is done, youโ€™ll review and explain it to customers so that they fully understand the work performed.

ยท Sell Service, Repairs, and New Equipment โ€“ Using our proven model, which we train you in, youโ€™ll sell services to the customer using a good/better/best model. Youโ€™ll also collect payment from the customer.

ยท Manage Inventory in Your Vehicle โ€“ Youโ€™ll need the right equipment, tools, and products to properly sell the job and service the equipment.

Requirements for the Service Technician Role


Basic Position Requirements

ยท Must have mechanical aptitude and technical skills.

ยท Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently.

ยท Must be able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

ยท Must be able to work in the heat and cold, both outside and inside garages that may not be temperature-controlled.

ยท Have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues.

Knowledge

ยท Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required โ€“ we will train you.

ยท Must be able to use a computer and/or tablet. You canโ€™t be afraid of technology.

ยท Must be able to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.
