Next Door & Window offers premium replacement windows & exterior doors to residents of the greater Chicagoland area. Next Door & Window is the leading home improvement company to turn to for house windows, entry doors, and house siding. A family tradition since 1947, we have helped homeowners throughout Northeast Illinois, and the nearby areas boost the curb appeal, functionality, and energy efficiency of their homes by replacing their outdated or damaged windows and doors with contemporary upgrades that are built to last.

The Window and Door Replacement Service Technician will report directly to the Service Manager.

Service Technician - General Responsibilities:

  • Field Service repair of customer window and door issues.
  • Identify product and repair parts needed to correct customer concerns
  • Adjust doors and windows for proper operation
  • Paint and stain touch ups as required
  • Casing and trim installation
  • Provide a level of Customer Service

Service Technician Experience Required:

  • Preferably a minimum of two years’ experience in a window/door installation or service environment OR General experience in the following industries translate well to this role:
    • Handyman industry
    • Small engine repair
    •  Appliance repair 

Repair Service Technician Qualifications:

  • Eye for detail as accuracy is imperative
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
  • Excellent service skills to satisfy customer concerns
  • Mechanical aptitude to diagnose and problem solve

Service Technician Time Requirement:

  • 40 hours per week with potential for overtime
  • Window and Door Replacement Service Technician must be available to work Monday through Friday and occasional Saturdays (Opportunities for overtime)
