What is a window coverings job?

A Window Coverings job involves the sales, installation, or design of blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery for residential or commercial spaces. Professionals in this field assess customer needs, recommend suitable products, and ensure correct measurements and installations. They may work for retailers, manufacturers, or as independent contractors. Strong attention to detail and knowledge of different materials and styles are essential in this role.

What are the typical daily responsibilities for someone working in window coverings installation and sales?

Professionals in window coverings roles often split their time between client consultations, measuring windows, installing products such as blinds or drapes, and troubleshooting any issues that arise on-site. You may start your day reviewing schedules, traveling to client homes or businesses, and collaborating with team members on custom projects. Effective communication with clients is frequent, as you'll recommend style and material options and ensure the final installation meets their needs. This role requires flexibility and problem-solving, as each installation may present unique challenges depending on window shapes, materials, or customer requests.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the window coverings position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Window Coverings role, practical experience with measuring, installing, and repairing blinds, shades, drapes, and shutters is highly valued, often supplemented by a background in carpentry or interior design. Familiarity with installation tools (such as drills, levels, and measuring tapes) and, in some cases, manufacturer certifications or product knowledge is important. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills help professionals tailor solutions to client needs. These competencies ensure accurate, high-quality installations, satisfied clients, and a strong reputation in a competitive market.

The Role

We are hiring a Window Film Installer to install 3M films on commercial, school, and government projects around the Denver metro area and surrounding Colorado communities, based out of our Denver-area operations. This is hands-on, precision work where quality is everything, and we welcome both experienced installers and motivated people we can train the right way.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare, cut, and install 3M security, solar, decorative, and graphic window films
  • Clean and prep glass for a flawless, bubble-free finish and measure and cut film accurately to each opening
  • Use hand tools and application solutions to Epic's standards, including security film and anchoring systems
  • Load and set up materials and equipment safely, following all job-site safety protocols
  • Inspect finished work for quality and represent Epic professionally on customer sites

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in precise, detailed work
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; able to report to Epic's Denver-area operations and drive to project sites
  • Flexible schedule and able to pass a background check (school/government sites)
  • Experience a plus: window film, tint, glazing, wraps, graphics, or 3M certifications — but we will train the right hands-on person

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work overhead for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs
  • Climb and work safely from ladders and lifts; steady hands and good close-up vision

What Epic Offers

  • $18.00 per hour starting pay with no experience required and paid training on site; health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays; paid training and 3M certification opportunities
  • Steady, year-round work with a fast-growing national company — work that protects real people

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Employee discount
  • Health insurance
  • On-the-job training
  • Paid time off
  • Paid training
  • Vision insurance
Company Description
Epic is a national, award-winning, 100% woman-owned commercial solutions provider headquartered in McKinney, Texas, with active operations in Colorado, Tennessee, and Oklahoma — and expanding. We are a 3M Platinum Elite National Dealer and have been named 3M National Dealer of the Year multiple years running — the highest recognition 3M awards in the window film industry. We are also a trusted service provider for the Presidential White House of the United States.
Our work spans security and architectural window film, solar control, decorative and privacy films, large-format graphics, and window coverings. Epic was founded on a single mission: protect the people behind the glass. Every installation we complete has to be done right — the film in a school vestibule or a government building is what stands between people and broken glass. That standard is the heart of this role. Installations done right...every time.
Company Description
EPIC is full of success stories and believes in a strong promote-from-within philosophy, encouraging you to grow your career along with the organization. We understand our growth comes from the hard work and dedication of each team member.
