The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Seller/Doer - Energy to accelerate growth of our utility-scale energy siting and permitting practice in California by identifying, winning, and delivering new client opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:
Business Development
  • Partner with Client Managers, Marketing Leads, and Operations to advance strategic marketing and business development initiatives
  • Identify, pursue, and win utility-scale energy projects and programs leveraging existing relationships and personal networks
  • Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ responses, including proposal strategy, development, and cost estimating
  • Engage directly with clients to uncover opportunities and position Tetra Tech for success
  • Maintain strong industry awareness and pursue ongoing professional development

Project Management & Execution
  • Serve as Senior Project Manager, leading siting, routing, and permitting projects from planning through delivery
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Lead preparation of land use and resource permit applications across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical guidance and mentoring to project teams
  • Support broader consulting activities related to project development, permitting, and analysis

Leadership
  • Drive practice growth and team development
  • Mentor Project Managers, Deputy PMs, and technical staff
  • Promote Tetra Tech's collaborative culture and commitment to client service and safety
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related technical field
  • 15+ years of experience in environmental permitting and energy project development
  • Strong background in:
    • Siting/routing evaluations
    • Environmental permitting and regulatory strategy
    • Technical studies and permit applications
  • Direct experience with:
    • CEQA (EIRs/MNDs)
    • NEPA documentation
    • California Energy Commission (CEC) and/or CPUC applications
  • Prior environmental consulting experience required
  • Experience with GIS tools and siting software
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project and ArcGIS a plus)

Work Environment / Travel:
  • Remote-based role within California
  • Travel required for client engagement, project work, and internal collaboration

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $160,000-$220,000 annually
