Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Family Job Description The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse will provide health care service to patients in Residential/ Outpatient Programs, with the knowledge and skills expected in the professional medical community. The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services while overseeing day-to-day clinic operations and supporting staff performance. This role combines direct patient care with operational leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
The position supervises clinical support staff, while collaborating with physicians, administration, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize clinic workflow, patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
Registered Nurse Responsibilities (This list not inclusive of all duties assigned) The right candidate will possess the following skills and abilities: - Elicit and record a complete health history including discriminating between normal and abnormal findings and taking appropriate actions according to the agreed protocol and medical consultation.
- Performs physical assessment using the techniques of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation, making use of appropriate actions, according to the agreed protocol or medical consultation and interpreting test results.
- Completes required documentation in the electronic health record for services rendered
- Provide Health Care Teaching/Counseling to patients.
- Prescribe medications according to protocol.
- Request and evaluate diagnostic procedures according to protocol.
- Maintain complete records of medical care in SOAP format.
- Manage common problems within the framework of standing protocols.
- Develop with the client/family a comprehensive health care plan.
- Consults, collaborates or refers to physicians according to protocol.
- Works with other professionals and agencies to provide health related services, i.e. Healthy Start, Social Work, WIC, Medicaid eligibility, Public Health Dept.
- Provide quality care to patients at all times.
- Participate in organizational activities (i.e. Health Fairs).
- Maintains 100% productivity monthly.
- Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
- Completes clinical forms within the same day of intervention.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation in patient charts within the same day of intervention.
- Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
- Performs psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis.
- Participates in internal and external committees and management team meetings.
- Provides in-service training to medical staff.
- Oversee daily clinic workflow and operational efficiency.
- Supervise and support clinic staff. Assist with staff scheduling, workflow optimization, onboarding, and training.
- Monitor clinical quality metrics, patient satisfaction, and operational benchmarks.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Family Qualifications - Current Florida State APRN License
- Master's degree or Doctorate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Minimum 3 years experience. National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Bilingual Preferred
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and switch tasks quickly
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Ability to use good judgment in sensitive situations and maintain confidentially
- Current DEA registration
