Job description

Position Overview

CLF Consultants LLC seeks a Georgia-licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver IEP-driven occupational therapy to students ages 3 through 21 across Whitfield County School System sites in Dalton, Georgia. The role supports students with sensory processing, fine motor, visual perceptual, self-care, handwriting, and adaptive functional needs identified through Individualized Education Programs.

The OT joins a multi-discipline contracted team aligned with Whitfield County's Special Education department in a sensory-friendly, collaborative therapy culture. Caseloads run approximately 55-65 students per direct-service discipline; assignment volumes vary by service model, campus distribution, and IEP changes across the school year. CLFC PMO works with the Whitfield County Special Education department to balance caseloads, cluster campuses to minimize drive time between schools, and rotate coverage as needed. The 8-hour billable workday is anchored to student school hours; service delivery is in-person preferred. Whitfield County provides instructional materials, computers, printers, and evaluation toolkits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with each student's IEP
  • Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, and progress assessments tied to IEP goals - sensory integration, fine and visual motor development, handwriting, self-care, and access to the school environment
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans focused on functional outcomes that support each student's participation in the general education curriculum and special education programming, with autonomy in clinical decision-making
  • Produce service-delivery logs matching each student's IEP service hours, in compliance with Medicaid billing documentation standards
  • Attend IEP meetings during the 8-hour school day as scheduled, contributing OT findings, treatment progress data, and goal recommendations
  • Recommend assistive technology, adaptive equipment, sensory tools, and classroom accommodations as appropriate within the school setting
Required Qualifications
  • Active Georgia license for Occupational Therapy in good standing
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
  • NBCOT certification (Occupational Therapist Registered, OTR), or eligibility at the time of hire
  • Demonstrated experience providing school-based occupational therapy to students ages 3-21
  • Working knowledge of IEP development, IDEA compliance, and special education service delivery standards
  • Successful completion of background check per Whitfield County School System and Georgia Department of Education requirements
  • Reliable transportation to multiple school sites within Whitfield County
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of K-12 school-based OT practice in a multidisciplinary special education environment
  • SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Test) certification - eligible for the SIPT specialty differential (see compensation details)
  • Autism-heavy caseload experience and applied behavior analysis collaboration - eligible for the autism specialty differential
  • Assistive technology expertise (high-tech communication devices, environmental controls, mobility AT) - eligible for the AT specialty differential
  • Bilingual Spanish/English capability - eligible for the bilingual differential
Compensation
  • Hourly base range: $60.00 - $72.00 per hour for experienced school-based OTs (independent contractor / 1099)
  • SIPT specialty differential: +$2.00 - $4.00 per hour for sensory integration certified clinicians
  • Autism specialty differential: +$2.00 - $4.00 per hour for clinicians with extensive autism school-based experience
  • AT specialty differential: +$2.00 - $4.00 per hour for assistive technology specialists
