Location: Waynesville, NC
Schedule: Full-time, Days (Monday-Friday)

Join our team of healthcare professionals at WFP in a fast-paced environment that provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages. These services include routine checkups, illness management, preventative care, and minor procedures. We are committed to providing personalized and high-quality healthcare in a friendly and welcoming environment.
How you'll contribute
A Medical Office Receptionist who excels in this role:
  • Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
  • Coordinates work flow and complies records of office activities.
  • Completes all aspects of check-in/check-out process.
  • Enters and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Collects any copay/coinsurance balances for current visit and any outstanding balance from patients.
  • Complete pre-appointment checklists and prepares accordingly.
  • Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages. Including retrieval and distribution of answering service messages.
  • Keeps office area neat and tidy.
  • Monitors and maintains log of needed office supplies.
  • Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
  • Monitors and addresses all front office task buckets in a timely manner.
  • Schedule referrals for patients to be seen by other physicians/specialists as ordered. Send all records needed and notify patient as needed.
  • Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers and Market director.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional requirements include:
  • Medical front office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
