JOB SUMMARY



The Iglesia Westside Associate Pastor serves as a key pastoral and operational leader within Iglesia Westside. This role combines congregational care, volunteer leadership, service coordination, discipleship development, and pastoral ministry to help create a healthy, welcoming, and sustainable ministry environment. The individual in this position serves as both a trusted shepherd to the congregation and the organizational backbone of Iglesia Westside, ensuring that weekly services, ministry teams, and discipleship opportunities are executed with excellence while helping members and families remain connected and cared for.


Working alongside the Iglesia Westside pastoral team, this role focuses on building strong volunteer teams, coordinating weekly services, developing discipleship opportunities, and cultivating meaningful relationships throughout the congregation. While not serving as the primary preacher, this position should remain prepared to preach and teach when needed and contribute to the overall spiritual leadership of the congregation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fluent bilingual
    proficiencyin English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in church leadership, volunteer leadership, or ministry coordination.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to recruit, organize, and lead volunteer teams.
  • Ability to teach and communicate biblical truth in both formal and informal ministry settings.
  • Strong relational skills with the ability to connect with individuals and families.
  • Experience
    utilizingtechnology for ministry operations and communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Availability to work Sundays, evenings, and special ministry events.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous
    experience coordinating church services or ministry events.
  • Experience
    utilizingPlanning Center, ProPresenter, or similar church management platforms.
  • Previous
    experience leading volunteers and ministry teams.
  • Ministry training, Bible education, or pastoral experience.
  • Experience developing small groups or discipleship environments.
  • Previous
    preaching or teaching experience in a church setting.



RESPONSIBILITIES & ASSOCIATED TASKS:

Weekend Service Leadership & Operations - 35%

  • Coordinate weekly Iglesia Westside services in partnership with the pastoral team.
  • Select worship teams and coordinate weekly worship schedules.
  • Develop and manage service presentations
    utilizingPlanning Center, ProPresenter, and other ministry platforms.
  • Coordinate stage setup, media preparation, and service-day
    logistics.
  • Support volunteers serving in worship, media, hospitality, and production roles.
  • Troubleshoot service-related needs and help ensure smooth execution of weekly gatherings.
  • Coordinate service flow and communication with ministry leaders.
  • Assist
    in creating engaging and welcoming worship environments.


Congregational Care & Family Connection - 30%

  • Build and
    maintainstrong relationships with Iglesia Westside members and families.
  • Provide pastoral care, encouragement, prayer, discipleship, and follow-up support.
  • Help connect new attendees into the life of the church.
  • Identify
    care needs within the congregation and communicate appropriately with the pastoral team.
  • Support families through significant life events, celebrations, and ministry milestones.
  • Foster a culture where people feel known, valued, and connected.


Volunteer Leadership & Team Development - 20%

  • Recruit, organize, equip, and encourage volunteers serving throughout Iglesia Westside.
  • Develop clear ministry roles and expectations for volunteer teams.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, communication, and support for ministry leaders.
  • Help build healthy volunteer systems that encourage ownership and long-term engagement.
  • Support the development of worship, welcome, hospitality, media, and
    announcements.

Discipleship, Teaching & Ministry Development - 10%

  • Assist
    in developing and supporting small groups, Bible studies, and discipleship opportunities.
  • Help create pathways for people to engage in spiritual growth and community.
  • Encourage participation in discipleship environments and leadership development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the teaching ministry of Iglesia Westside through Bible studies, classes, small groups, and occasional preaching responsibilities.
  • Remain prepared to preach and teach as requested by the pastoral team.


Team Participation & Administration - 5%

  • Participate in Staff Chapel, Staff Connect, Directors Meetings (as requested), prayer gatherings, retreats, and other staff functions.
  • Maintain
    timelycommunication with staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
  • Maintain an up-to-date calendar and
    ministrycommunication systems.
  • Pray, dream, imagine, innovate, read, listen, research, and equip yourself to lead and serve others well.
  • Contribute positively to the culture and mission of Westside Church.
