Our Oilfield Services business provides intelligent, connected technologies to monitor and control our energy extraction assets. Our team provide technical expertise to meet our client expectation in Wellbore Intervention field. We provide customers with the peace of mind needed to reliably and efficiently improve their operations.

Partner with the best

As an Applications Engineer you will be part of the SIS Product Regional reliability and applications team to support the North America Offshore operation. You will focus efforts on run life improvement actions for Baker Hughes products in a cross functional setting through failure analysis, risk management, process improvement, and life cycle asset management.

As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Daily interaction required with local Operations Management, Product Line Technical Support and the external Customer to ensure objectives have been met.

  • Under broad direction provides direct instruction on deployment and interpretation of Smart Intervention tools.

  • Provides advice and direction to external customer and third-party wellsite colleagues as appropriate.

  • Provides resolution to a diverse scope and range of complex problems at the wellsite where analysis of data requires having a broad knowledge of the product line's tool(s) and/or service(s).

  • Communicating with Quality, Engineering, NPI, Marketing, Manufacturing/AMO, and Operations to ensure documentation is current, accurate and consistent

  • Assisting regional engineers conducting Failure Analysis to analyze failures, determine root cause, and corrective actions.

  • Developing customer root cause analysis report on failure mode effects and criticality analysis, cause mapping, fault trees, and problem solving

  • Leading customer response teams when high impact failures are encountered.


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Engineering/Technology)

  • Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Technology Support

  • Have extensive experience with Completions and Well Intervention and Drilling Services equipment Field Service or Application engineering

  • Have knowledge in Drilling Services Applications and Logs and especially CWI systems

  • Be fluent in English (oral and written) and have excellent all-round communication skills

  • Have knowledge in Microsoft office package to acquire information needed to develop written RCA reports
