Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner)UPMC Heart & Vascular InstituteOutpatient - Wellsboro & Mansfield

UPMC is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant/PA or Nurse Practitioner/CRNP) to join our Cardiology team within the nationally renowned UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, serving patients across Wellsboro and Mansfield. This is an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting while partnering with a highly collaborative and innovative heart team.

In this role you'll make a meaningful impact treating patients with complex cardiovascular conditions-without sacrificing work-life balance.


Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • No weekends, nights, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.
  • Split between Mansfield & Wellsboro, PA offices

Compensation & Incentives

  • Competitive salary based on experience

What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in an outpatient setting
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions
  • Develop individualized care plans focused on quality outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on heart health and disease prevention
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care

  • Knowledge of growth and development principles
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan
  • Ability to assess patient data and deliver care per departmental policies
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required for direct patient care
  • Successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, where applicable.

Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
    • Completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
    • BSN required; MSN preferred
    • Pennsylvania RN license and CRNP certification
    • National certification and eligibility for licensure and CRNP certification by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
  • Physician Assistant (PA)
    • Graduation from an ARCPA-accredited Physician Assistant program
    • Bachelor's or master's degree preferred
    • Pennsylvania PA license and NCCPA certification
  • Required for All APP Candidates
    • CPR certification -
      • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
    • Successful completion of Pennsylvania clearances:
      • Act 33
      • Act 34
      • Act 73
