Job description

Helping Hands Childcare & Wellness Center is seeking an experienced, motivated and dependable Child Care Center Administrator/Director to lead the daily operations of our licensed childcare center.

We are seeking more than someone who can simply maintain the director title. We are looking for a strong early-childhood leader who can support teachers, maintain licensing compliance, build positive relationships with families, improve staff accountability and help strengthen enrollment and retention.

Experienced Assistant Directors who meet Ohio administrator qualifications and are ready to advance into a Director position are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee daily childcare-center operations.

Maintain compliance with Ohio DCY childcare licensing requirements.

Maintain required staff, child and center records.

Manage OPR/OCLQS documentation and licensing requirements.

Supervise, coach and hold teaching staff accountable.

Conduct classroom observations and ensure curriculum and classroom expectations are followed.

Maintain staff schedules and appropriate classroom ratios.

Prepare for licensing inspections and address corrective actions immediately.

Maintain professional communication with parents and families.

Conduct center tours and assist with enrollment.

Follow up with prospective and current families to support enrollment and retention.

Lead staff meetings, orientation and ongoing training.

Monitor attendance, documentation and required reports.

Assist with CACFP requirements and documentation.

Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming and professional childcare environment.

Work directly with ownership while being capable of independently managing daily center operations.

Required qualifications:

Must currently meet, or be able to document meeting, Ohio Child Care Center Administrator qualifications under OAC 5180:2-12-07.

Experience working in a licensed childcare center.

Previous childcare leadership, administrative, assistant-director or director experience.

Knowledge of Ohio childcare licensing requirements.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to supervise and coach staff professionally.

Ability to handle parent concerns and difficult conversations appropriately.

Ability to maintain confidential records and meet deadlines.

Successful completion of required background checks.

Strongly preferred:

Previous Childcare Director or Assistant Director experience.

CPL Level 3 or higher.

Associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education or related field.

OPR/OCCRRA experience.

OCLQS/Step Up To Quality experience.

CACFP experience.

Enrollment, family-retention or childcare marketing experience.

Experience working with children with special or behavioral needs.

Experience preparing for licensing inspections.

Compensation: Competitive and based on demonstrated education, credentials and childcare leadership experience.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
