Job description

JOB SCOPE: The Mill Receiving personnel is responsible for receiving the ingredients Diamond Pet Foods requires for production. They document the pounds of ingredients received, maintain running inventories, and verify that the incoming ingredients are within specification. Mill Receiving personnel are also required to operate heavy machinery including forklifts and trailer spotting equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles. Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures/weather. Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
Work Schedule: Graveyard Schedule 6pm - 6:25pm
Job training will be conducted on day shift

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follow proper testing protocols for incoming ingredients, including sieve, Perten, and moisture testing.
  • Become proficient in the plant infrastructure for ingredient storage.
  • Operating yard-dog and railcar mover, as well as spotting trailers and railcars (once trained).
  • Follow proper protocols regarding probing and sampling of incoming ingredients.
  • Scale trucks in and out according to policy.
  • Responsible for filling up propane cylinders as necessary.
  • Follow protocols for maintaining accurate ingredient inventories and communicating shortages.
  • Perform batching operations when required.
  • Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
  • Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
  • Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work well under pressure.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
